EMPIRE STATE CELLARS OPENING NEW TASTING ROOM : An exclusively New York State wine and spirits focus coming to Riverhead Tanger Outlet Center.

RIVERHEAD, NY (August 10, 2011) - When Peconic Bay Winery opens Empire State Cellars, its new satellite tasting room at Tanger Outlet Center in Riverhead this fall, it will be a first of its kind for the winery and for the Tanger Center.

Empire State Cellars, the brain child of James Silver, General Manager of Peconic Bay Winery & Nautique Wines, will not only offer the award-winning wines of its Peconic Bay parent - it will also showcase the very best wines and artisanal spirits grown and produced by the 300+ vintners throughout the entire State of New York. “For the New York wine enthusiast,” says Silver, “our new tasting room will be a great opportunity to access those wines, spirits and hard ciders that are often so difficult to find in our area. And for our fellow New York producers,” he continues, “it will give them an unprecedented marketing and sales presence on Long Island.”

At Empire State Cellars, Tanger customers will have the unique opportunity to taste and purchase wine and spirits from Lake Erie, the Finger Lakes, Niagara, Lake Ontario, the Adirondacks, Lake Champlain, Hudson Valley, Central New York, Long Island and even the urban wineries of New York City. “We’ll have the best of bottled New York,” says Polly Brown, Director of Cellar Operations. “We are excited to be able to present a comprehensive Empire State wine and spirits experience to consumers. At our vintner partners’ discretion, we hope to include vertical collections, older vintages and limited or rare bottlings along with the finest of their current releases.”

Tastings will be offered each and every day at Empire State Cellars, with a schedule to include visiting winemakers from featured New York wineries who will share their stories and wines with customers.
